Educational Resources

I am designing a workshop and creative resource for Hopscotch Theatre company to accompany their production: Plop! in the Ocean, as it embarks on its Scottish tour. Written by Sarah Mooney, it is a slapstick comedy about friendship, plastic pollution and looking after our planet for young people aged 8-12.

Having clocked up thousands of hours of facilitation with young people over the years, I am playing with the ideas of how to explore the climate emergency in an accessible, fun and entertaining way.

I’m thinking interactive, playful, tactile exercises to encourage young people to feel the difference between caring for our planet and not. There is of course, space for education - but my concern is always what the young people feel because it is more powerful than fact.

Let’s make them WANT to care for their planet, as well as understanding WHY it’s important.
